Academic Training and Education Standards Committee
The purpose of this committee is: To develop curricula and other resources for teaching, training and/or providing clinical supervision in cognitive-behavioral assessment and therapy. To develop and promulgate training and educational standards (e. g., curricula, guidelines) in training programs in psychology, psychiatry and other medical specialties, social work, nursing, special education, and other relevant disciplines. To examine the extent to which cognitive-behavioral training has been disseminated and implemented in appropriate training programs. To acknowledge academic excellence in teaching, mentorship, and supervision. To develop resources for those seeking training and mentorship in cognitive-behavioral theory and practice and those organizations that are developing or implementing training and competence standards.
We have several subcommittees: Teaching Resources, Medical Director Directory, Graduate Mentorship Directory, Spotlight on Mentors, Dissemination-Implementation of CBT Training, Training Guidelines for Terminal Masters, and Best Practices for Culturally Informed CBT.
We have immediate need for new members in our Spotlight on a Mentor and Graduate Mentorship Directory subcommittees.

Spotlight on Mentors. This program aims to highlight the diversity of excellent research mentors within the organization's membership ranks. The goal is to spotlight both promising and accomplished mentors across all levels of academic rank, area of specialization, and type of institution. Call for nominations in June, review nominations over the summer and select three awardees in time for ABCT annual conference.
Graduate Mentor Directory: This directory is intended to provide students with an opportunity to learn which individual ABCT members regularly mentor students in their respective graduate programs. It needs to be updated annually.
